CROWDS AND CARS DAZZLE AT NEW PAGEANT
Sunday 26th June saw the 1st ever Gillingham & Shaftesbury Motoring Pageant roll into Dorset and what a show we had on one of the hottest days of the year so far!
The rumours of incredible vehicles in the area were proved true with some incredible vehicles on display including an AC Cobra, GT40, numerous Ferrari's, an XK120 and a brace of series 1 E Types on display.An original 1969 Dodge Charge which was signed by John Schneider (Bo Duke) and painted as the General Lee was one of the show stars and a perfect ’67 Bullet Mustang also proved incredibly popular – the owner was driving to the coast and saw the show signs spending the entire day at the show!
Practical and modern classics were also prominent with the Dorset RS Owners Club featuring a fabulous display including RS Cosworths right through to the latest Focus. Other clubs to be commended include Three Counties, Triumph Sports Six, Salisbury and Shaftesbury, Bournemouth and District, Sunbeam Alpine and many more. Southern Classic Speedway brought several classic speedway bikes (many being former title winners and rode them into the arena).
Pre War also featured prominently as well as a brace of Stags and other practical classics.
Date for 2012 will be Sunday 24th June and with owners stating they will be back ‘with more cars and friends’ the show is set to grow and the organisers are confident of doubling the show size for next year. The NEW Show from Jason Lunn and Helen Morton. Classic car and bike show
organisers with more than 25 years experience between them you can be assured of a
great day out.
Staged at the superb and beautiful Turnpike Showground near Shaftesbury this new
show on the classics calendar provides the South West with a great day out for classic
enthusiasts and families alike.
With hundreds cars and bikes on show, clubs, autojumble, general trade, a licensed
bar, fun fair and so much more it’s a day not to be missed.
If you are a club member you can down load our club form from this web site. You
can also enter your car individually. Or why not enter our make and model section
where you can part your car alongside all the similar makes and models (e.g. all Ford
Escorts, Mini’s, Aston Martin DB6’s all parked together).
‘We’ve been looking for the perfect venue to launch a pageant event in the South West
and Helen has found a superb venue with Turnpike Showground who giving us great
support in bringing this new show to the region. We look forward to the South West

Make and Model Parking:
Do you want to park your car in the show but its not a show car or just want to relax parked in the event. By entering Make and Model Parking you park inside the show field alongside similar cars (i.e if you have a ford escort you park with ford escorts, if you’ve got an Aston Martin DB6 you park with them, etc).
